Re: Need some help with polyphonic setup
Just a mention. I have used the USB-> MIDI 5-pin Kenton box, and it worked nicely. But I ended up selling it and getting an iConnectMIDI unit, because the Kenton only permitted a single USB input. Plus, it won't work with a USB hub, which was a surprise. So, it you ever want to expand your setup, yo...

Re: i2m with vocals??
Yes, I still plan to do a video on this. Sorry and alas, my schedule has been full, and it takes some dedicated time to record and post a decent video. I will post a note here when I get something done...

Aha! I take that as a challenge! Time permitting, I will do a video showing voice-to-MIDI, and announce it here.

Re: Creating chordal accompaniment for flute/sax/etc
Ya, thanks very much, PaulK. That method does use up too many zones too quickly, for sure. And the SoftStep method is workable but too complex. As a rule, I go for "as simple as possible" as I like to minimize troubleshooting between and during gigs. Its a matter of avoiding MIDInsanity. :...

Re: User Manual for musicport v1.3
Well, there didn't appear to be a manual with the Mac download. So, I downloaded the Windoze version, installed it using Parallels, located the resulting pdf, opened it with Acrobat, and saved it to my Mac drive. The journey was long, but the destination was the same! Great info in the manual, BTW. ...

Re: User Manual for musicport v1.3
Sorry, I did mean the manual for the Desktop Editor. The link on the site for Desktop Editor is for the V1.0. doc. Is this incorrect? Thank you....

User Manual for musicport v1.3
The online manual appears to be v1.0. Is there an updated manual with all of the features since v1.0 explained in one place? Thx!

Re: Creating chordal accompaniment for flute/sax/etc
With regard to "chordal accompaniment" ... I am working on some live performance songs that require "funk" horn lines. I play alto sax, and use WIVI Band to get harmonizing trumpet, trombone, and tenor sax (using different MIDI channel outputs via the i2M). While the chords provi...

Re: firmware update
FYI... When trying to update firmware to 1.3 from 1.2 using the MusicPort sw on a Mac Mini Server running Lion 10.7.3, I encountered the following: - select Upgrade Firmware from the sw app - from Choose a File, navigate to the i2Mmusicport_1_0300.sfu file - select Choose The i2M flashes red, a wind...
