Re: Fine Tuning
I've not compared heavier strings versus lighter strings with regard to pitch-change on attack. However, with heavier strings it gets harder to damp them to ensure only one string is playing at a time, so in many ways lighter strings are better since they are easier to control. Usually, with pitch-...

Re: Fine Tuning
Are you using chromatic mode, or pitch-bend mode on the i2M? In chromatic mode, it can sometimes get the note wrong by a semitone initially, then correct this very quickly by sending a new note. So you get two notes played next to each other. This may be what's happening. This is usually easy to fi...

Re: Fine Tuning
Can you check the i2M configuration using the i2M editor? Is it possible that some MIDI zones have been set up that is outputting more than one MIDI note at a time? If required, you can reset the i2M to factory settings using the editor: go to the "setup" page and select "reset to fa...

Re: Fine Tuning
You've probably read these FAQs, but just in case here's the link: http://www.sonuus.com/products_i2m_mp_faq.html To get familiar with playing MIDI, it's best to find an instrument sound that has similar characteristics to a guitar. So, you want: fast attack, fast release, and single notes (so no c...

Fine Tuning
I've been a guitarist for years and have a superficial understanding of MIDI, but I don't know enough. I am trying to play through an i2M in to Reaper using a variety of VST instruments. In some of them, like Safwan Matni's nay, the notes sound exactly as I play them. In others, like the Chinee Kong...

Re: no sound
In the i2M ASIO control panel, set the "Input Monitor Level" slider to minimum and you won't hear the direct guitar signal. In Reaper, you can still use the direct guitar signal and process it thought it's effects. You can control the level of this using the mixers in Reaper. I am very pl...

How can I choose to hear MIDI or audio but not both?
I hope this is not too obvious of a question. I am playing a telecaster through an i2M into Reaper 4.13 on Windows 7 32bit and I'm hearing both the guitar and the VST mixed. I'd like to hear only the MIDI (or only the guitar). How does one choose or switch between them in terms of the sound being ou...

Re: no sound
Have you ticked "use chained output device"? The output options are greyed out until you do this. James: I'm rewriting this as I've monkeyed around reinstalling things very carefully and I've got i2M musicport ASIO showing under the ASIO device in Reaper 4.13, along with enabled inputs Hi...

Re: no sound
The Sonuus ASIO control panel is all greyed out. There do not seem to be any parameters open to selection. In other words, it is dysfunctional from the start. It appears to be a compatibility issue. Reinstalling asio4all restores asio functionality. Is anyone here using Reaper 4.13?

on toshiba satellite laptop in windows 7 32 bit running reaper 4.13 with i2m soundport asio selected and gs wavetable synth disabled my guitar through the i2m is causing the meters to respond normally but I'm getting no sound from the system. I must be overlooking something basic. Can anyone help? B...
