No Midi with Instrument Thru G2M V3

I was hoping to use my G2M to provide a 'Note On' to a synth to trigger envelopes, with Instrument Thru connected to the synth external input. But when I plug in to Instrument Thru, the midi stops.

Is that meant to happen?

***** UPDATE - Reconnected Instrument in and it's all fine now *****

Re: Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

Meanwhile, I have created an AHDSR. A very expensive one. I have a synth with AHDSR envelopes, and it takes an external audio input. Now the problem with synths and audio in is that there is nothing to trigger the envelope (they don't do any kind of gate function on the input). Step up to the plate ...

Re: MIDI patch change, remote control

I've been looking at this today. Best solution on the DIY front, so far as I can make out, is as follows: Arduino UNO (or equivalent, such as Sparkfun Redboard) which has up to 14 digital inputs, along with a USB Host Controller. The Arduino/Redboard has 14 digital inputs which can be wired up to pu...

Re: Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

OK, solved it. I've had something like this before. The problem was selecting MIDI control on the Voluum after I'd created the device in Reason.

This time I selected MIDI on the Voluum, and then recreated my Ext MIDI Inst in Reason. It seems to have reset itself.

Another layer of fun opens up ...

Re: Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

Yes, MIDI channel to Omni (also tried it on 1, as that's what I'm sending on) and MIDI as the control. I've got everything else off (Compressor, gate, envelope and limiter). If I play something on the guitar and switch between Pedal and MIDI, it just cuts it on MIDI, whatever I do with CC7 (I tried ...

Re: Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

Thanks. Yes, in the example I know of (a synth) if the hold is engaged it is fixed time (set via the 'hold' control). I'm playing around at the moment. Exploring ideas. Great to have your feedback, thank you. The one thing I have not yet managed is to control the voluum via midi. I'm using Propeller...

Re: Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

Just worked out what it is I am seeking. AHDSR - a hold at the top before the decay.

Not sure if anyone else would want to use it, but it is a useful feature when you do want it!

2 basic midi questions

Is there any way to link the Voluum and Wahoo together through USB midi? Could it be done as a future development, theoretically if not logistically (I've seen the requests ...) Just trying to think of ways to send midi signals to the Wahoo without having a midi to usb converter. Secondly. I'm using...

Inverted Bathtub swell/fade type thing

Trying to find a way to do this. I can get the fade in working well using the envelope, and I can get close to what I want with a slow trapezoid LFO, but I really want a fade in on envelope trigger, with a fade out at the end. I probably need to do the fade out externally though, to get the retrigge...

Re: Reliability question

Thanks.

I think I wound the LEDs down to as low as possible as soon as I got it. They are bright!
