Hi
I'm considering buying an i2M but have come to card on my technical/digital knowhow.
Almost all my projects in Ableton is set up with 24 bit 48 kHz.
Since the i2M produces 16-bit, 44·1 kHz/48 kHz does this mean that I have to change the settings for my projects (new) to be able to use the i2M?
Or is it simply the solution of the sound into my DAW, that doesn't affect the setup?
Best Regards

Ableton 9 Live - 16 bit vs. 24 bit
Re: Ableton 9 Live - 16 bit vs. 24 bit
What audio interface are you using now?
One option is to use your current interface for audio, and only use the i2M for MIDI input. If you do this, the i2M's audio won't be used at all, and it will work just like any other MIDI device: it won't affect your audio setup at all.
If you use the i2M for audio input, I am not sure what Ableton does if the audio device doesn't support the same bit-depth as an existing project (16-bit vs 24-bit), I don't have Ableton here to test.

Hi James
Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm using a M-audio Profire 2626 for audio and will continue with that. The i2M is for midi input only, so you have answered my question.
Thanx
