i2m with tablets

Post by srcarruth »

I apologize if this has been discussed but I can't find anything when I search.

I am looking to use my i2m with a tablet so I can use it somewhere besides my living room. I know that it works with the iPad but I would much rather stick to Android since I already have several Android devices and little interest in joining the Cult of Apple at this time.

I know it's a wide range but, generally speaking, does the i2m work with Android tablets? Any in particular I should be looking at? Pitfalls or promise? I did see one person saying that they used a Microsoft Surface so that is another option but I am hoping Android can do the job.

Thanks!

We've not tried the i2M on Android tablets (we don't have any to test with), however, I think it should work.

I found this MIDI monitor application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... idimonitor

It says that a USB-MIDI interface that works on OSX/Windows without drivers is required. The i2M is such a device -- it uses "class-compliant" audio and MIDI drivers, so it supported natively in Android and other OSs.
