Any problems like this that I've seen before are usually fixed just by rebooting Windows. For example, I've seen MIDI problems after running MIDI-Ox continuously for several hours, and the only solution was a reboot, but that was a long time ago.

If rebooting doesn't help, I'll have to do some research to see if I can find anything. Did you try rebooting / restarting Windows?

Hey James!

IT'S ALL WORKING NOW.

You were right. Apparently, there was something wrong with my PC.
I installed Mixcraft and MIDI ox on my laptop and it worked, just as you said, PLUG-AND-PLAY!
So with a very heavy but frustrated heart I reset my PC.
And it finally worked.
Right before my band has to arrive!
So much for living on the edge :-|

You are amazing!
You've been prompt, utterly helpful and accommodating. Can't thank you enough.
And there's near Zero latency even without the ASIO drivers installed!
This is great!
Can't wait to get my guitarist to really put it through it's paces.

I had a one teeny query though.
How can my guitarist switch between the "pitchbend" and "chromatic" modes in the midst of playing the guitar?

By default, a short press on the button on the i2M will toggle between chromatic and pitch-bend modes (flashing and non-flashing light on the i2M).

You can also do this hands-free by configuring the presets on the i2M to use MIDI program change, then use a MIDI foot controller to send program change messages to the i2M (through your computer) to switch between the presets.

Alright.

I saw there is a program change knob.
Does that define the sensitivity of switching/changing?

The program change knob lets you select the "program number" that is used for this preset (mode). When the i2M receives a "program change" message it will activate a preset whose program number matches the number received in the program change message (or simply ignore if it nothing matches).

Would this work?
(REGIS Universal Piano Style Sustain Pedal for Yamaha Casio Midi Electronic Keyboards)

Could you give me an example of what would work as a midi foot control?

The REGIS sustain pedal won't work because it's not MIDI - it's simply a mechanical switch.

There are many MIDI foot controllers shown here:

https://www.thomann.de/gb/midi_footswitches.html

But they are rather expensive. The cheapest one I found was this one:

As an aside, the Sonuus Voluum pedal can also be used as a MIDI controller. You can also connect 2 external footswitches to this with an adapter to give you 2 MIDI footswitches and a MIDI expression pedal. And you get a volume pedal, compressor, tremolo, etc...

Great stuff!
So ordering for that.

Thanks a lot!

A new issue has cropped up though.
Will ask in a new thread.
