Numerous skips while tracking moderate to fast notes.

Post by Krawd »

Hey there!
You've been a great help regarding my last issue.
Hoping you could superpower me through this one too!

So my guitarist saw this for the first time and completely LOVED the concept of being able to play the synth via his simple Electric Guitar.
However, when he started playing his riffs at a tempo of even 100, the device started to skip notes.
There were no "mistaken" notes, not a single one, but the notes from between were simply absent.
But then I re-watched the few YouTube videos showing people playing this and saw them going to town at a tempo over 120!

I don't understand what I, or my guitarist, are doing wrong?!
Him not being able to play riffs will render the whole "live" scenario pointless.

He wants to play just like: https://youtu.be/q7bnPsvH5Zk
But he is, at best, playing 'do-re-mi' on a synth!

Help us out here!

Palm-muting!

Make sure you mute the strings with your picking hand. This is for two reasons: (1) it will stop the non-playing strings vibrating (if the i2M sees more than one note it can slow it down because it has to work out which is the correct note); (2) slightly damping the string that is playing will make the note stop faster between notes and make the attack of new notes more obvious. This allows the MIDI conversion to be optimised and made faster.
