Hello,
I’m trying to configure the i2m into my iPad setup. The i2m is correctly seen as midi input but the problem is as soon as I connect it I only see the i2m in terms of audio inputs and lose the audio interface ones from my focusrite. Is there a fix for this? Isn’t it something I can disable? Or should I get a usb to 5 pin converter(if those are a thing I didn’t check) and just plug it into my midi input?

This may be normal, but I'm not sure. Certainly a long time ago the iPad could only access one audio device at a time, but there have been many iOS updates since I last tried this so it may have changed -- but from what you describe this may still be a limitation in iOS.

Also the Sonuus G2M (http://www.sonuus.com/products_g2m.html) has a 5-pin MIDI output and this uses the same MIDI conversion technology as the i2M musicport

The hobbytronic solution seems discontinued but the kenton one seems like a good solution, I already have a product from them and they seem like a good company.
I wanted to ask you though a question about the g2m. Are there any major differences in use to the i2m? I mean the kenton and g2m go for the same price more or less and if the i2m and g2m do substantially the same thing it seems to me that the kenton would be a better investment as I could use it with midi controllers or other USB devices. If there are use differences then it might make sense to get the g2m. What do you think? Am I approaching this the wrong way around?

Hi, I'm new here but just saw this and thought I'd jump in... I use the i2m with an iPad pro (through a USB C hub) and a separate audio interface at the same time. The iPad will only use one audio interface at a time, and chooses the last one to be connected as the one to use. So just make sure your Focusrite is connected after you have plugged in the i2m and it will still let you use the i2m for USB MIDI but the Focusrite for audio.
