Recommended AC Power Adapters?

Any recommendations for an external AC power adapter, like a Roland PSA-120?

The Wahoo will work with most 9V power adapters. Some guidelines:

(1) It is best if the power is "regulated" -- it will work with unregulated, but it's possible some mains (50/60Hz) can get into the audio if unregulted.

(2) Current should be 500mA -- although the Wahoo typically never draws more than 400mA. A 300mA supply will work if you don't have the LED brightness set to a high level.

(3) Polarity doesn't matter -- it works with either.

(4) The power connector needs to be a 2.1mm centre pin. That's the most common size, but some are 2.5mm. You get smaller ones too, designed for small equipment (cell phones, etc).

The Roland PSA-120 looks perfect. It looks like the centre pin is 2.1mm.

I am using a T-Rex fuel tank chameleon as my board's power supply. Could I get away with one using one dedicated 300mA 9v output or would I need to get a doubler cable and consume 2 slots?

Your wahoo looks great and an answer for a wah AND envelop filtering.

A 300mA output will be ok, but you might want to make sure the LED brightness is not set to maximum. At maximum brightness (100) it can take more than 300mA. At default brightness (40) it should remain below 300mA (typically around 200mA).

just an update.... no issues with hooking this up to a 300mA 9v power supply. I kept the LED brightness at 40 which is default. 40 is already plenty bright! I did not try cranking it up

Great, thanks for the update.

The 500mA specification on the unit is for a wort-case. We are required to do that and it is tested during certification to ensure that the PSU rating is high enough for a worst-case current draw. But, typically, a 400mA supply should be fine even at max brightness.

Is anyone powering their Wahoo from a Pedal Power 2 Plus from a single 250ma drop? Or from both 250ma drops (500ma total) using one of the special Y cables?

You mean the iPad USB charger? If so, yes, this works really well with the Wahoo.
