Wifi latency a problem. Connect via USB?

Anyone know a way to connect the iPad via its USB connector rather than through the wifi? The latency is rough to deal with, even after connecting the router directly to the computer...

you'd need a camera connection kit or the newer Lighting to USB3 adapter. works like a charm with any class compliant audio interface...

My daughter uses a Lightning to USB3 adapter cable with no issues at all, it's a perfectly viable option as well.
