unable to use the Xtractor and my G2M V3

Post by jameslgross »

I need help. I am trying to improve my (fairly non-existent) bass skills by
joining Gigajam and using their “Xtractor” software but it is not “hearing” my
electric bass. I have my bass plugged into my SONUUS G2M V3. I have the outlet
of the SONUUS G2M V3 plugged into one of male plugs of a MIDI/USB cord with the
other male MIDI cord just hanging there no inserted into anything. The USB
portion of the cord is plugged into my computer. The Gigajam people tell me
everything is hooked up correctly but this just can’t be right- the “Xtractor”
software is not “hearing” my electric bass when I play plus I don’t believe you
can have one of the MIDI cords not plugged into anything and have everything
work OK. I think something is missing. Help!!!

I haven't used Xtractor, so I'm not sure, but I believe it should work as long as you have connected everything correctly.

The MIDI-USB interface has 2 MIDI (5-pin DIN) cords. One of these is MIDI-In, the other MIDI-Out. You need to make sure you connect the G2M to the correct one -- it won't damage anything if you get it wrong, but you won't get any MIDI into Xtractor if it is wrong.

So, maybe try connecting the G2M to the other MIDI core on your interface and see if it works.
