About power DC adapter

Post by rumen »

Hi! I can not find DC adapter 9V (30mA). All 9V adapters are from 100mA up. What kind of adapter can I use ?
And one more question . I have switchbox electro-harmonix which I use with midi convertor and I want , if possible , to use one DC adapter for both of them. For the switchbox it's necessary DC adapter 9V 200mA power supply. I know I have to change pollarity. What power supply do I need , how much mA , in order to connect G2M and switchbox together?
Thank you!

30mA is the minimum required. You can use any PSU with a rating higher than this, so 100mA is perfect.

The G2M doesn't need much currently, so you can probably share this with other pedals without problem (you just need to have the connectors to wire it up).

Thank you for the fast reply!
Although, the information from your User manual and internet information about instructions is wrong. I think, that <30mA means MAXIMUM 30mA.
For example, this is from Internet :

Power Requirements
1 x AA battery (typically more than 20 hours operating time)
Optional 9 VDC external power supply (maximum 30 mA)
MIDI Power: 5 V (via 220-Ohm resistor as per the MIDI specification)

This information is everywhere on Internet.

Best regards !

Optional 9 VDC external power supply (maximum 30 mA)
This means "maximum 30 mA" is the maximum power (current) required by the G2M. Not the maximum output of the PSU.
