G2M breakout cable?

I would like to pass program change messages (voice change) through the G2M using the MIDI in/out breakout cable then to my synth:
MIDI foot pedal (pc message)-> midi in -> g2m -> midi out -> synth

Is this possible? Or do I need a midi merger?

You need a MIDI Merger. The G2MV3 doesn't include this functionality: the MIDI in doesn't pass through to the MIDI Out.
