i2m on Violin

Post by fattiechang »

Mark Wood 5 string Sabre, with Barbera pickup (dual piezos under each string)
Windows SP2 2.0 GHz dual core processor, 2 GB RAM
Kontakt 4 using just their factory installed instruments as a test.
i2m Musicport is fully updated

Like the previous user (tklenke), i2m does not track all the notes I play, and will often play the wrong semitone of a note. I have to play quarter notes very slowly in order for it to track, and the latency is much to high for recording, much less live performance. I've included screenshots of what I have the settings at. Would the G2M be a better fit to run into a similar rig??

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!

Cordially,

Felix Chang

Regarding the latency, what delay do you think you are seeing? In the violin range, there should be no issue with this and I suspect there is something else in the chain that is causing a delay. In the latest version of the i2M software there is a latency test mode to allow you to determine the latency in your system from the output of a MIDI note.

For the semitone issue, are you running in non-chromatic mode? Are you able to send us an audio/MIDI recording so we can assess what the problem may be?

Yea, after using the test mode, the latency itself is a bit off. How would I remedy that?

I updated the ASIO drivers to the new 2.0, and it feels a bit faster, but it's still slow in tracking as well as dropping the some of the notes I'm playing.
I will try and get a sample of the output for analysis.

Really appreciate all the help!

Would the G2M be easier to implement..??
