Bass Version

Post by ptdorris »

Hello,

Are there plans for a bass version from Sonuus? If so, any idea on a release date?

Hi Paul,

We can't give specifics of our product plans but this is a question we have been asked a lot!

I'm vote for a B2M and i'm sure this could become a hit for a lot of bass players. The Moog is good for bass guitar, and there is a positive thread about the G2M on talkbass.com.
Now you know what you have to do. ;)

Is there any hint of a bass version on the horizon?

Im not a bass player but my guitars are usually tunes to drop C and drop B. I got very excited about this product when I came upon a video on youtube demonstrating what the device is all about. I was ready to sell my Roland GI20 and GK3 pickup and get one of these babies! Unfortunately looking for further info on the device I learned that it does work very with pitch under a E2. I was looking to play low down rhythms with my guitar triggering my virtual synths. I can't wait to see if Sonuus release a product that would fit my needs.

We are now able to release some more information on this...

We will soon have a bass version, and it will be called the B2M. It will be officially launched at Winter NAMM in January 2010.

More information and detailed specifications will be available on our web site nearer the launch date, but here is a brief summary:
  • () Optimised for bass guitar
  • () Works down to low-B (i.e., B0 at 30Hz)
  • () Very low latency and fast tracking
  • () Accurate pitch-bend, or chromatic (non pitch-bend) mode

I can't confirm availability currently, but I would expect you will be able to buy one in the UK some time in January. We will announce on the forum when it will be available from retailers.

It should work fine with electro-acoustic bass.
