Sonnus with tapping instruments

Post by nisenbom »

Hi,

I have very good results playing with pick on my regular guitar. When i am trying to tapp on 6 highest strings of my 12 sting tapping Megatar (bartolini pickups) accidental low notes (up to an octave) are being generated. Any suggestions? May any signal processing be applied in fron of sonnus to overcome this problem?

Thanks

Sometimes if two strings are played together (even if one is at a lower signal level, e.g., if it was hit accidentally, or is resonating in sympathy with another string) it can cause other notes to be detected -- because the extra tone is altering the harmonic structure of the intended note.

Could this be the problem?

I suggest making some audio recordings of the guitar signal and look at it just to see what is happening. If you can't see any obvious problems with the guitar's signal, send us the file and we'll have a look at it for you and we may be able to suggest things to help.
