Violin / orchestra staccato stabs?

Post by ChromeBeast »

I'm not sure what you call them but the short staccato "stabs" that violinists do. How can they be emulated via the G2M? I have the sounds, but not sure if I specifically need a sound that is a staccato. Anyone have an idea whether it's a technique issue or a VSTi that I would need?

Thanks!

For this to be convincing I think you need to have a suitable staccato patch selected on your VSTi. With such a path, playing the guitar in a staccato manner will give you very good results.

ive not got around to trying my G2m yet only got it yesterday but I think the stabs on the strings you mention would probably be good if you played them by stopping the note ringing out by muting it with the right hand at the point you want it to stop. cheers...paul
