Dear Sonuus Team,
Yesterday I got an flashing ER1 message on startup and the Wahoo made ugly noisy clicking sounds. Today it is muting the sound when it is switched on making it unable to use, still showing the ER1 on startup. In bypass I'm getting a dry sound. I tried Batteries, USB and a 9V Powersupply and I'm always getting the ER 1.
I'm very thankful for any help!
Cheers, Gabriel
ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
Re: ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
Hello Gabriel,
This error indicates a problem communicating with the analogue board. Your description suggests a problem with the power supply to the analogue board, which would also cause this.
The analogue board gets its power from the digital board (where all the power supplies are managed). The most likely cause is a failed solder connection between the boards, or a failed component in the power supply filtering (a resistor).
How old is your Wahoo? It should be a very easy fix if you want to do this yourself, or we can do it for you.
Let me know, you can PM me with any details you don't want to be public.

Re: ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
Wow James, thx for the quick reply on a Saturday!! :-O
I have 2 Wahoos... so I'm not entirely sure but I think that I purchased the one that is causing troubles now in April 2016.
How easy is easy to fix? I don't have any electronic skills so I don't know if I am capable.
How much would it cost if you fix it for me?
Cheers, Gabriel

Re: ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
Hi Gabriel,
Yes, I'm working on a Saturday!
We can repair it for free, you just need to pay shipping to get it to us.
I believe the repair is very simple if you can solder. I'm assuming it's a bad resistor that needs to be replaced, or bypassed. The resistor is surface mount so you don't even need to disassemble anything, just remove the back panel of the Wahoo. See the attached image to show you the resistor. Feel free to open the Wahoo and see what you think.

Yes, that's the address.
Please include a note in the box so we know who it's from, and where to send it when it's fixed.

Re: ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
Dear James!
Thank you for your help and support!!!
Thank you also for fixing the stickyness of the pedal. Now it's super creamy =)
Is it hard to fix that or can you explain me how I can do it?
because our second wahoo has the same stickyness and if it's just oiling & doesn't need soldering electronics or other things that are too scientific for a bass-player I would try to fix it.
cheers

Re: ER 1 - Wahoo stopped working
I am glad I could help
Maintenance, adjustment, cleaning etc of the pedal mechanism is not difficult, but you do need to do a bit of disassembly.
There is a guide here: http://www.sonuus.com/downloads/Wahoo_P ... _Guide.pdf
This is not described in the guide, but to clean-up and relubricate the pedal you want to remove the big bolt completely (taking note of how all the bits go together!). If you do this you want to clean the aluminium and plastic faces (this is the friction bearing). Once they are clean, use a small amount of suitable lubricant (grease) to make sure it keeps running smoothly. You might not need to do this, you may only need to loosen the tension in the nut a little.
