Definitely loosen or remove the strings, the pressure can snap the neck. I commonly will try and insulate the inside of the case by using wrapping the guitar in t-shirts or towels so it doesn't circulate round. Also, ensure your case has extra than just zippers or snaps to maintain it closed.
