singing into a G2M

Post by samcameron »

out of curiosity i plugged a Berhinger eurovoice mic directly into the G2M
using an XLR-jack lead. The triggering worked quite well though I am aware
this is a mic with a non standard impedance. Not surpringly you can not sing
like you do normally with expression and slurring and affectation. An exaggerated
lip puckering 'rain in spain stays mainly on the plain' kind of approach is needed .
Not sure if that will change with other mics and preamps being used but it works.
Could be used to get a meldoy down in midi quickly but one would have to do it
not too fast and speed it up later if needed. As your mouth is not designed like a flute
or guitar you will not necessarily be able to mimic such soloing

If you can mimic guitar attack with plosives like in "pow" or "tow", you could create nice melodies with G2M, which impossible to be played on keyboard :D

As a singer, one of many, and one who loves jazz scat--I hope you would consider a voice to midi (V2M) device.
