Preset bypass could be better

Post by tfeb »

I have a Voluum with 1.2.00 firmware, which I think is current. I have two presets:
  • P00 is a straight swell pedal (mildly tweaked from F00 probably);
  • P01 is pedal controlled compressor, which I think is a clone of F04.
What I want to be able to do is to have it so that P00 is the bypass preset, so it's always a volume pedal, and P01 is the active preset. So what I changed in the global settings was:
  • disable the pedal-controlled bypass (obviously don't want this if you want to use the volume pedal as the bypass preset);
  • enable preset bypass and set it to P00.
And this doesn't work: it might be that P00 is the bypass preset, but the pedal does nothing in bypass, so it's not really useful.

It would be nice if this could work.

Thanks for reporting this. It may be a bug. We will investigate it and get back to you.

It's not a bug....

The bypass preset can only work when LOCK is on -- so move the lock switch to the locked position and it should work correctly for you. This is because bypass preset interferes with preset editing, so we could only enable it when locked.

(This was discussed a while ago here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1357.)

Thank you! I will try that this evening, but that makes sense. (Not to mention it would be silly to use the pedal without lock on in any kind of live context I think!)
