I am controlling all my effects via midi using the gigrig's G2. Here's the chain: G2 -> Timeline -> BigSky -> TC Elec Flashback x4 -> Voluum -> TC Elec Nova Drive. So far I can change presets across all devices however while retaining this capability, I also want to be able to control the amount of gain on individual presets on the Nova drive using the voluum as an 'expression pedal'. I will still want the G2 to have overall control. Is that possible?

You can certainly use the Voluum's pedal as a MIDI expression pedal to control the Nova Drive (assuming the Nova Drive allows this, which I assume it does). The Voluum can send MIDI even in bypass, so as long as you don't override the expression settings in a preset it'll also work in presets.

You'll want to turn off "5-pin MIDI through" otherwise you'll get a loop. You don't want the Nova to send MIDI to the Voluum and that same MIDI to be sent back to the Nova.
