Problems with Logic seeing the midi input

Post by Davo »

Hi - this is my chain:

Bass -> B2M midi-> Edirol UA-25EX (USB) -> Latest MacBook Pro -> Logic Express.

I've tried lots of things but I cannot get the Logic to recognise or register the midi input.

I wonder what I am doing wrong. I am using an external midi track.

Hi,

Does the Mac recognise the Edirol USB -MIDI converter?

On the B2M, do you see the MIDI light go on when you play a note?

It sounds like the G2M is producing MIDI output. Do you have any other MIDI device to try with? Are there any lights on the Edirol unit to show there is MIDI or USB activity? The B2M transmits on MIDI channel 1 so you may need to set logic to receive on that channel (however I'm not so familiar with Logic). It might be worth using this MIDI monitor http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ to check you are getting MIDI input to the Mac.
