Latency in B2m

Can anyone help me with latency.

i pyt b2m thru alesis io2 audio/midi inteface. i usecubase software. latency is unacceptable.

midi cable is pretty long (can that affect latency?)

what should i do, what setting to use to minimise latency

Cable length won't affect the latency. It is most likely your audio settings. Check out this FAQ to see if it helps:

The latency you are experiencing is not coming from the B2M - at least not the "unacceptable" amount.

You need to check and see what you have set up in Cubase or any software that supports your I/O.

I use RME interfaces that are near ZERO - but they are really somewhere near 6-10ms delay by the time everything is running. It's part of computer-based recording.

If you are going bass-to-B2M-to-I/O-to-Cubase-to-monitor, it's going to add up.

Depending on your ear, anything more than 10-12 ms can be hard to deal with.

Are you monitoring with headphones? Know that every foot you are away from a speaker adds about another millisecond of delay.
