failing to install software and firmware updater

Post by ml67 »

Please help

Just got my i2m today and after registering downloaded both the editor software and firmware updater
Unizpped the editor software zip and tried to install by double clicking on icon. other than being asked whether I wanted to install the software etc.. nothing else happens
Same applies for the firmware updater

I'm running macos 10.6

Thanks

On the Mac, you don't need to run an installer. Just drag the app from the zip file into your Applications folder (or where you want it to be installed) then simply run it from there. Does that work?

just tried this on both my minimac (macos 10.6) and macbook pro(macos 10.5.8)
dragged the unzipped files into the application folder and attempted to run to no avail.
on both machines the application does not come up

tried restarting both machines. same result
I there a special procedure I need to follow?

We've just tested this on a brand new Macbook Pro (a clean 10.6 install with no other apps on there) and it worked correctly. We downloaded the zips from the web site, dragged the apps to the Applications folder and ran them without problems.

Maybe try downloading the files again in case they are corrupt in some way?

This is a good suggestion. We have had another users with this problem and it was caused by using a 3rd party utility to unzip the file. We've not had problems using the tools built into OSX.
