i2M map channel to different tracks in Logic 9

Post by grus05 »

I am a new newbie to i2M and associated Midi configuration and looking for some guidance to configure i2M in a Logic 9 environment.
Can I map the different i2M zones to individual tracks in Logic 9?
In addition I still would like to use a keyboard controller of another dedicated track/channel strip.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Yes, you basically need to configure your zones and presets in the i2M the way you want them. Lets say you are sending note harmonies on channels 2, 3, and 4. In Logic, just set up separate tracks, each one receiving one of your MIDI channel signals. These would typically hold different virtual instruments. Some instruments are also capable of separate voices on separate MIDI channels, but this is less common.

For more info on and help in using Logic Pro, I highly recommend the logicprohelp.com forum, as well as the online Apple docs.
