How can I choose to hear MIDI or audio but not both?

Post by Zeugitai »

I hope this is not too obvious of a question. I am playing a telecaster through an i2M into Reaper 4.13 on Windows 7 32bit and I'm hearing both the guitar and the VST mixed. I'd like to hear only the MIDI (or only the guitar). How does one choose or switch between them in terms of the sound being output to speakers?

By the way, I am very happy with the analog to MIDI conversion. You could say I've been waiting for this device for about two decades!

Thanks Sonuus.

I replied about the ASIO driver in this post: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=601&p=1510#p1510

I don't have reaper installed here so I can't say what needs to be done in Reaper to toggle between MIDI and Audio only. Usually, it's as simple as muting (or soloing) tracks so that only the MIDI or audio tracks are active.
