Avoid Ghostnotes

Post by Pille »

HI,

i have a problem with the Ghostnotes...and some tones are additional to the normal played tones. I use an Ibanez 200EX BAss and i cannot play "clear" Midinotes...they are often some Ghostnotes and so they come up some tones i don`t have played. Sometimes i play a B and it is another Midi-Note. So i can`t play in tune with my other instruments. My bass is tuned correctly and it sounds very well in tuned!!

Any suggestion to solve that problem!?

Best

Usually this is a result of playing technique -- not damping the non-playing string as much as it could be. On a bass, this is harder than on a guitar because the strings are heavier.

These FAQs give most of the tips to try:

On the i2M you can also use the velocity filter. When enabled, only notes with velocity above the level you set will be sent as MIDI. This helps you filter out the unintentional ghost notes that are usually at a lower level than the intentional notes.
