Opening the wahoo

Post by shott »

So, after I bought my Wahoo I wrote you that the treadle is wobbling sideways. Back then I got this "pedal tension guide" pdf, but that just made me shake my head in disbelief. Well, I finally got around to try and fix it. Didn't even get past the first PCB before hitting a screw that didn't move a frikkin millimeter. Now its head is mush. Dafuq am I gonna do now?! And what hulk screwed those PCBs in?!

Appologies for the slow reply.

That is really annoying. These pedals were designed to be easy to repair! I've only seen this once before and the only way to remove it was to drill off the head of the screw. Then the board can lift out and the remaining part of the screw can be removed with pliars (or left in place -- there are a lot of screws to hold in the boards, and not all are required to hold the boards securely).

The screws should all be tightnened to a specified torque, I suspect this one wasn't.

By default, all the user presets have a default setting which is the same as the first factory preset (F00 = crybaby).
