Voluum "clanking" noise on toe down

Post by newdream »

Hi.. I've had my Voluum for about a week.... very cool !!!
Question: when I go "toe down" NOT slamming it.. I hear a metallic "clanK/metallic rattle"

After looking around I found that if I just Tap on the top of the case I get the same sound...
All jacks appear tight...

Thoughts?

Inside the Voluum there is metal shielding can around the analogue electronics to keep electronic noise out of the audio signal. A bang on the case can cause this to vibrate and give you that "clanking" sound.

I have no problems if you open the unit. It's easy to do and designed to be easy to maintain.

If the noise is a problem, some damping can be added to stop the metal vibrating.
