i2m with iPhone SE 2020 (lightning only) - audio out??

Post by therealmf »

I have purchased an i2m and I'm really impressed by the tracking. I am trying to use it with SampleTank and MidiGuitar. But I don't know how to get the audio signal out of my iPhone and into my PA system: when I use the Belkin Rockstar Lightning-USB adapter I can plug in my i2m and it is being registered by the iphone. I can hear the sound through the built-in speaker of the iPhone. But since this generation of iPhones has no headphone jack anymore I can't get the signal OUT.
I have already tried the Apple lightning-headphone adaptor (connecting the lightning jack into the empty lightning socket on the Belkin) but apparently the Belkin doesn't deliver audio on that socket. Also connecting the two adaptors the other way round doesn't work: I can route the signal of the iPhone out to the headphone jack, but then the i2m isn't recognized and doesn't light up.

How can I connect the i2m and the iPhone so that I can send midi in and get audio out on whatever jack to route into my PA?
