I've a little question: Is there any delay if I send the signal of my g2m thru a midi merger box?
Thanks to all!
G2M with a midi merger
Re: G2M with a midi merger
Yes, there is some delay, but it is usually very small.
A MIDI message is typically takes around 1ms to be sent. For the merger to work, it has to wait until the message has been fully received then re-send it, so there is typically around 1ms of delay to do this. If there's many MIDI messages coming in at once the delay can be longer because one message could hold up another as it's being merged.
However, a delay such as this is imperceptible so you can usually just ignore it.
