Amy Schugar

Before  working with and getting Japanese Record Deal with Michael Schenker, Amy Schugar had been developing her skills as a songwriter, arranger, singer and guitarist.

Amy comes from a Musical background. Her Godmother was the famous Amalia Mendoza, and Amy's Mother was a famous bullfighter and singer in Mexico City named Carla Lee, featured in a book called Women and The Bullring by Murial Feiner. Amy's talent is undeniable, her energy, tenacity and never-give-up attitude have benefited many bands and collaborators in the past. Amy was a popular fixture on the LA metal scene during the metal days with her Guitar Playing skills in the band "Maiden America" that performed regularly at the now infamous Troubadour, Gazzari's and The Whisky clubs on the Sunset Strip.

For the longest time, only Amy's circle of friends got to hear her music. Then a chance meeting with Mr. Schenker (UFO, Scorpions, MSG) while attending a concert by one of her favorite artists Eric Johnson, Amy was noticed by Mr. Schenker as she was singing and playing Eric's 57 Stratocaster on the side of the stage. He was impressed with what he heard and saw, and the two began their songwriting collaboration.

The duo recorded the album "Under Construction", featuring Schenker's soulful guitar playing and Amy's magical voice. The album can be found on Amy's Home Page at and on CD Baby. Amy was a special guest with MSG on their Fall/Winter 2003 tour, playing songs of Michaels/MSG, while showcasing Amy's guitar skills along with the Schugar/Schenker songs off of the album the two wrote together.

Since then, Amy has received many endorsement deals with Best Electronics, Voodoo Amps, Floyd Rose Upgrades, Daisy Rock Guitars, D'Addario Strings, Crate Amps, Seymour Duncan, Fernandez Sustainer's and Robert Keeley Electronics and is featured in countless musical trade publications and internet webzines. Amy was recently featured in GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE and Burrns Magazine Of Japan , and In Europe also for Paradize radio and Many other radio interviews in America.

Amy continues to write songs consistent with her bluesy melodic Rock and Roll style. Press reviews / interviews can be found on her home page along with the album that Amy and Michael wrote together.

We are proud to welcome Amy to the Sonuus line-up of great artists.
