Edward Coonagh


Edward Coonagh is a London-based Session Guitarist, Bassist, Keys Player, Sound producer, and Composer.  Edward regularly performs professionally as a session musician, and in live music venues across the UK and Globally.

Edward plays Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, and most guitar-like instruments (Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo, and Lapsteel). He specialises in improvisation in all genres, and works equally well from full notation, lead sheets and audio recordings.

Edward is experienced in a large variety of sessions and performance situations - from tours alongside bands such as Stone Sour, Murderdolls and Feeder at a young age, to intimate concerts and festivals including Glastonbury and the opening of the prestigious Montreux Jazz festival. 

Currently involved in various session and recording projects.  Edward is also the lead guitarist/ Musical Director for the iconic Rodriguez. He has toured across the globe for Rodriguez, with worldwide acclaim, including the Monaco Royal family. 

Edward studied at the world famous Guitar institute in London, winning musician of the year at his graduation.

He has since composed over 100 pieces of music, both for live performance, original projects, and for various professional clientele. He has had his music used in TV shows such as, CSI Miami, MTV and various TV advertisements. His song writing and performance abilities were recognised when one of his music projects won BBC Radio1 single of the week. This led to various TV appearances and major press coverage.

Edward's ability to fit seamlessly into each project has meant he is often called in at short notice. Always the professional, technically outstanding, meticulous in detail, and a pleasure to have alongside, Edward is one of the most respected musicians in the UK
