Gaz Williams

Welsh bass player, Gaz Williams, has had a long and interesting career in music thus far working as a bassist, producer and music tech guru.
Recently Gaz has completed a world tour with Karl Hyde frontman from Underworld and a short tour with long time Peter Gabriel guitarist David Rhodes. Last year he performed with Marc Almond and Carl Barāt in the ground breaking rock opera Pop’pea. The past few years has seen Gaz recording and performing with a wide range of artists such as William D Drake (Cardiacs), Charlotte Church, Thighpaulsandra (Spiritualized), Martin Carr (Boo Radleys), Christopher Rees and Colum Regan.
He has played in the Welsh psychedelic prog band Rocketgoldstar for
nearly 20 years who have earned a reputation for innovative live
performances and unusual song structures and is currently playing in
the Bristol based surf band The Rumble-O’s.
He is also a well known music technology expert regularly appearing
on Sonic State’s weekly podcast Sonic Talk as well as co hosting the
iPad/touch device show Sonic Touch.

“I was blown away by the Wahoo. We first
reported about it on Sonic State when it debuted at the Namm 2012
winter show and I was desperate to get hold of one as soon as
possible. The smoothness of the filter is unbelievable and I have
been able to get some of the thickest, juiciest wah and filter sweeps
I’ve ever heard. I especially appreciate the synth like
complexities with fully adjustable LFO’s and envelopes but am
incredibly impressed with how easy the computer editor is to operate."
